Global Giving Foundation/Cummins Ghana limited Laying of 1m diameter precast concrete culvert spanning a distance of about 26m.

 

Reinforcement works on section of the precast concrete culvert over a length of 12m, filling, compacting and reshaping of existing road on both sides of the reinforced culvert for effective vehicle and human access.

Promoting Participatory, Transparent and Accountable Governance in Shama and Prestea Huni-Valley District Assemblies in the Western Region, Ghana

 

United States Agency for International Development (USAID) / Management Systems International (MSI) Mobilized civil society groups and constituted Governance Issues Forum Network (GIFNet) and created platform for joint action and oversight in the implementation of development Action Plans of the Shama and Prestea Huni-Valley District Assemblies thereby ensuring citizens demand for transparent and accountable governance from public officials at the local level.

 

Improved community participation in local governance and information sharing at local government level (bridged engagements gap between local government and communities for greater participation in decision making) thus building mutual trust between the citizens the Assembly for responsive leadership.

Enhancing Citizen (Women’s) Participation in Grassroots Leadership and Decision-Making Processes in Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai District, Western Region, Ghana.

 

United States Agency for International Development (USAID) /Management Systems International (MSI) 36 community animators (33 females, 3 males) and 30 women leaders from 6 communities in the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai district equipped with relevant knowledge, attitudes and skills in local governance and decentralization thus ensuring their participation in local governance and decision–making processes in their localities.

 

Interest of citizen (women) stimulated in the local government system hence their demand for accountability at local government level.

Newmont Golden Ridge Limited Ghana A 3-year Water Sanitation Hygiene (WASH) and Public Health program which provided training and infrastructure (household VIP latrines, Mosquito Nets), STI Education, Cholera prevention, Malaria prevention Education, Public safety, Road safety and Defensive driving to school children, occupational groups, Food vendors, Public Health Nurses and the general public to be able provide adequate services, prevent communicable diseases, and reduce casualties  due to an influx population in the mining enclave. 2010-2012

Financial Management Training (FMT) for Newmont Akyem Mine Project-Affected Persons (PAPs),  Eastern Region, Ghana

 

Newmont Golden Ridge Limited Financial education program which trained 1,549 project-affected persons (PAPs), made up of 705 females and 844 males in financial management skills to help them to better manage cash compensations. The trainees were also provided investment advisory/counseling services.

 

Provided one-on-one financial management skills training and business/investment advisory/counseling services to 19 project-affected persons (PAPs), made up of 2 females and 17 males with affected farmland(s) greater than or equal to 12 acres.
