JOHN KWAMINA GYIMAH

John holds a Master of Philosophy Degree in Agricultural Extension from the University of Ghana, Legon; a Post-graduate Certificate in Agricultural Administration from GIMPA, Accra; B.Sc. degree in Agricultural Extension, University of Cape Coast and Diploma in General Agriculture from the University of Ghana, Legon. John is the Deputy Research-Extension Farmer Linkage (RELC) Coordinator of CSIR/MOFA for the Western Region of Ghana. He has rich experience in agricultural extension and rural development and contributed his expertise to agricultural development in the Western Region as an extensionist; Ghana Armed Forces as an agro-consultant on retirement preparation for military officers; trainer on non-traditional agricultural commodities for Agricultural Science Teachers Association of Ghana; trainer on preparation towards retirement for heads of second-cycle institutions in Ghana and a master trainer on the production of non-traditional agricultural commodities. He has worked with the Ministry of Food and Agriculture for 26 years and has attended a course in trade liberalization in agriculture in Berlin, Germany; a training-of-trainers’ workshop in the Philippines; a fellowship programme in Penstate, USA and a short course on farmer-based organization development along the value chain concept in Australia. John is a practicing farmer with a lot of experience and the founder and Executive Director of the Aboadi Rural Agriculture Technology Transfer Centre, a not-for-profit organization, that seeks to support rural agricultural communities in Ghana, using improved technologies to increase productivity. He provides consultancy services on alternative livelihood programmes for Rural Enterprise Programme under the Ministry of Trade and Industry.
